How to enjoy a holiday???

President's day! A day off! Hooray. Ahhh I could accomplish so much today.... I have all kinds of plans...

I need to finish a book so I'm prepared for the book review I lead on Thursday... have only 1/4 of it read at this point and I'm a slow reader.

Work on my quilt? In the night, I was thinking/dreaming of working on a quilt that I have planned on paper only thus far, (and boughten the material) and been waiting for a good stretch of time to sit and form... of course, only if I'm feeling into it. Will today be the day?

Okay, it is now 10:00 a.m. I slept in a bit... had a leisurely beginning. Even made scones. Filling my domestic craving that pops up now and then. I'm into trying different recipes for scones after having some fantatic ones a co-worker made. They are so easy and quick and a real treat. You can throw about anything you want into them. My husband can't resist them nor I.

What else have I done? I've managed that time with the Lord.... good but not as good as when you are up early and the house is not astir. I must remember that... again!

Now... what about the rest of the day? Shower? Yes I must get to that! Quilt? Maybe. hummm. Read? really need to? Make a nice supper??? Naaaa... I'll go with the basics... Fish planned for tonight, it is thawing now. Visit the grandsons? Tempting, but then the book wouldn't get read... I need lots of time to get that done! Watch a great Christian DVD about revival??? would love to and very well might. It was wonderful the first time around. OK, you see what I mean? There are not enough hours in a day... a holiday.

My plan? take it one moment at a time... follow my whim.... and enjoy the day. I hope you too are enjoying your day.... even if it isn't a holiday. It's 10:30 a.m. and I'm off the the shower and making my bed. Life is good!

God bless

That's definitely the way to enjoy a holiday. Embracing the slowness isn't something we always get to do, but it's fantastic when given the opportunity!
