I had hoped to grow old gracefully. And when 70 or so, I want to be one of those silver-haired, still beautiful women. But what's this "tired" thing that keeps recurring. What are these bags under my eyes and lack of energy to do those things I have great ideas to do!
I want to warn you younger girls about what's ahead. You see, with menopause, not only are hot flashes a possibility, but problems sleeping at night...for no reason under this blue heaven also blesses you! It is really fun!
Here at the library we have plenty of books about getting old. Here are a few:
Sex over 50.
Healthy at 100
Cooking with Hot flashes
The older the fiddle the better the tune (Hey! I like that one.)
The age-defying diet revolution
Forever 50 and other negotiations
Is it hot in here or is it me?
Maybe I should write a book...
nahhhh. I'll wait for Meagan to get old and write one. She is much funnier than me. (Meagan, you've developed a reputation!)
Maybe I should ask, "What would Jesus do?"
Oh yes! That gets me back to a right perspective. I hear that quiet voice saying, "Patsy, it's not about you! It's about my Kingdom." OR "Patsy, stop the complaining and get back into the Spirit, Right Now!" (well, He wouldn't bark at me exactly like that!)
I like that scripture: Beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Inner beauty....that is what we are to have and it does express itself on the outside, don't you think? Lord, bring me to that place of inner beauty. Soften me in all ways! And let me sleep uninterupted for just one night! Please!

Have you read all those books Mom? :) LOL! Being pregnant I think I understand your frustration over not getting one decent nights sleep... At least I know it's only until March... Hey, on a happier note, Piper has slept through the night two nights in a row now. Moving hasn't fazed her at all!
